Choosing candidate count and horizontal or vertical layout

Settings → Appearance controls candidate count, direction, font size and skin.

Recommended

• Confident pinyin users: five candidates horizontally for fewer page flips;
• Beginners or older users: seven to nine candidates with a larger font;
• Vertical layout suits wide screens and long-sentence proofreading.

Tip

More candidates means fewer page flips but longer rows. Start with five and increase if needed.
