What it does
Cloud input sends the current pinyin string to a server for candidate computation, which noticeably improves long sentences, rare words and trending terms.
Trade-off
- On: better accuracy for long phrases and new words;
- Off: everything is computed locally and nothing is uploaded;
- Recommended off for sensitive or confidential work.
Turning it off
- Settings → Advanced → Cloud Input;
- Untick Enable Cloud Input;
- You can also disable hot-word updates and candidate optimisation.
