- Full-width characters take two ASCII widths and are standard in Chinese text;
- Half-width suits English, code and URLs;
- Chinese punctuation looks different from ASCII punctuation.
Switching
- Shift+Space: full and half width;
- Ctrl+period: Chinese or English punctuation;
- Click the moon/sun and punctuation icons on the bar.
Formatting
Check the required style before formal documents; always use half-width punctuation in code, and enable automatic half-width in English contexts.
