Prerequisites

The Linux edition is built on Fcitx. Install fcitx first (sudo apt install fcitx on Ubuntu/Debian) and make it the default framework.

Install

  1. Download the deb (Debian/Ubuntu/UOS) or rpm (Fedora/openSUSE) package;
  2. Install with sudo dpkg -i package.deb or sudo rpm -i package.rpm;
  3. Log out or reboot;
  4. Add Sogou under Region & Language → Input Sources.

Common issues

  • Missing dependencies: run sudo apt -f install;
  • Candidate box misplaced: enable follow-cursor in Fcitx configuration;
  • No Chinese output: make Fcitx the default framework instead of IBus.
